What is Pilates?
Pilates (pronounced pi-lah-tees) is the surname of Joseph H. Pilates the developer of a unique method of physical and mental conditioning. The word Pilates now refers to the exercise technique that he developed in the early 20th century, which dramatically improves strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and posture.
Pilates is recommended by Physiotherapists and Osteopaths as an effective form of rehabilitation especially for lower back pain. It targets the deep ‘core’ muscles, working the body through its complete range of motion, correcting muscle imbalance and reducing pain and tightness:
“In ten sessions you will feel the difference”
“After 20 sessions you will see the difference”
“After 30 you will have a whole new body”
